Arsenal target Victor Osimhen would improve the team's front line straight away, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Osimhen has spent the last two years at Napoli in Serie A, but a move to the Premier League could be on the cards for the striker this summer.

What's the latest news involving Osimhen?

Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive campaign in Italy, scoring 14 goals in 26 league games for Luciano Spalletti's men, and his manager has labelled him a "complete" player.

The 23-year-old looks to be a major talent, and, according to Italian outlet La Repubblica, he is attracting attention from Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Osimhen won't come cheaply as Napoli value him at €110m (£93m).

What has O'Rourke said about Osimhen potentially joining Arsenal?

O'Rourke is aware that Arsenal have a battle on their hands to secure the signature of Osimhen.

However, he believes the 18-cap international could make a major difference to Mikel Arteta's side if he does move to the Emirates in the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking about Osimhen potentially joining the Gunners, O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “It’d be a huge signing for Arsenal. There will be competition for his signature if he does leave Napoli, but he’s had a really good season in Serie A.

"It looks like he’s got all the attributes to be a success in England. He’s a big, strong, fast striker as well, so I think if Arsenal were able to get him, he’s definitely somebody who could improve them right now.”

How likely is it that Arsenal sign Osimhen this summer?

Napoli are set to finish third in Serie A, meaning they have qualified for the Champions League, whereas Arsenal now look likely to miss out on the top four after slipping up in their last two matches. This could harm their chances of landing the 6 foot 2 attacker.

Then again, United and Newcastle won't be competing in the Champions League next term either, so this may not be a major issue for the north London club.

Perhaps the bigger concern will be Osimhen's price-tag. Arsenal would smash their club-record transfer fee if they agreed to pay £93m for him, and that would be somewhat of a gamble for a player who has missed a considerable number of games over the past two years due to injuries and illnesses.

If Arsenal's sporting director Edu gives this move the green light, they could have a decent opportunity to land the Nigerian. If the club are hesitant to match Napoli's asking price, they will probably miss out on him as the Serie A club have no reason to lower his price-tag, given that he still has over three years left on his contract.
