Erling Braut Haaland, Gabriel Jesus and Robert Lewandowski are among the players that could make big money moves this summer as clubs look to strengthen before next season.
It is no different in women’s football, although GiveMeSport Women has already established there is far less cash splashed for female stars.
Nonetheless, Chelsea’s Bethany England and Everton’s Sandy MacIver are among the players touted to be moving on to pastures new for a sizable fee.
With the summer transfer window the hot topic at the moment, we used evaluations from Transfermarkt and Soccerdonna to list the most valuable XI in both men and women’s football.
The most valuable XI in men’s football (4-1-4-1)
GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG) – £58.50 million
RB: Trent Alexander Arnold (Liverpool) – £72 million
CB: Ruben Dias (Manchester City) – £67.50 million
CB: Marquinhos (PSG) – £67.50 million
LB: Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) – £63 million
CDM: Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) – £76.50 million

CM: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – £81.00 million
LM: Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) – £90 million
ST: Kylian Mbappé (PSG) – £144 million
Kylian Mbappé is the most expensive player in the men’s XI, and this comes as no surprise. The Frenchman has scored 36 goals and racked up 22 assists for PSG in all competitions this season, outshining both Messi and Neymar.
He is joined by his PSG teammates Marquinhos and Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City are represented by two players apiece. Real Madrid and Manchester United have one player each in the XI.
The most valuable XI in women’s football (4-1-4-1)
GK: Sandra Paños (Barcelona) – £148,000
RB: Ona Batlle (Manchester United) – £148,000
CB: Leah Williamson (Arsenal) – £170,000

CM: Alexia Putellas (Barcelona) – £507,000
LM: Lieke Martens (Barcelona) – £295,000
ST: Sam Kerr (Chelsea) – £380,000
Unsurprisingly, the women’s most valuable XI is dominated by Barcelona, who are widely considered the best team in the world right now.
Ballon d’Or Féminin winner Alexia Putellas is the most expensive player, after achieving 17 goals and a league-leading 16 assists in the Primera División this season. She is also the joint top-scorer in the Women’s Champions League with 10 goals.
Sam Kerr, Ona Batlle and Leah Williamson are representing the Women’s Super League, while Crystal Dunn is the sole American player in the XI.
