Manchester United have had a nightmare season.

The Red Devils were expected to challenge on all fronts after spending big on Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.

But they have struggled massively.

United have missed out on qualifying for the Champions League. They may also miss out on the Europa League, too, depending on results on the final day.

Bruno Fernandes has taken some flak throughout the campaign.

The Portuguese midfielder was brilliant in 2020/21 as he directly contributed to 32 goals over the course of the Premier League.

He hasn't been able to replicate that success this season, though, scoring 10 times and recording seven assists.

Fernandes sits top of the pile, having created a total of 109 chances for his teammates. View it below...

United may have struggled this campaign but their failures haven't been down to him.

He's created more chances than any other player in the Premier League.

He's created six more chances than Martin Odegaard in second. Bernardo Silva (99 chances created), Mohamed Salah (93 chances created) and Kevin De Bruyne (92 chances created) round out the top five.

Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Kane and Joao Cancelo also make the top 10.

Fernandes may not have been able to replicate his incredible 2020/21 season, but he has still performed well this campaign.

He will be pivotal as Eric ten Hag looks to restore the club back to their former glories.
