He had tricks aplenty and could do pretty much whatever he wanted with a football. He was a joy to watch.
As Ronaldinho came to the end of his career, another Brazilian with every trick in the book emerged: Neymar.
Neymar can do things with a football that people can only dream of and has enjoyed extraordinary success since making his professional debut in 2009.
Neymar was born 12 years after Ronaldinho but, despite the considerable age gap, the duo actually featured numerous times alongside each other for Brazil.
Their most memorable game together came against Argentina in the second leg of the Superclásico de las Américas in September 2011.
Both players were at their entertaining best in the match as Brazil won 2-0.

Ronaldinho has recently defended his former teammates. He told RMC Sport, per Goal: “I don’t understand because there are all the great players. You want to change everything? What do you want to have, the worst players in the world?

“We have to wait for them to understand this new way of living and playing football. The rest will come slowly. This adaptation is normal, to do things well.
“[Neymar] is one of the best players in the world. He’s had several injuries this year. When he’s at 100 per cent, he’s a really special player for this team. Neymar, Di Maria, Messi… the greatest players are together. If you’re not happy with that, who are you going to play with?”
