Wolverhampton Wanderers could experience ‘radical changes’ over the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Midlands outfit have endured a difficult second half of the season under manager Bruno Lage and several of their experienced stars have been heavily linked with moves away in recent weeks.

Wolves went on a run of just five defeats in 21 Premier League fixtures after losing their opening three league games of the campaign 1-0, sparking genuine hope of a top-four finish.

However, their form has dropped off dramatically of late and the Molineux outfit have now won just three of their last 13 matches, drawing two and losing the other eight, leaving them in danger of dropping down to 10^th position.

The club’s supporters booed the team off the pitch following a recent 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton, and Lage even admitted he had sympathy with their frustrations.

And the unrest in the stands comes amid apparent protest on the training ground, with Football Insider claiming the Wolves players are planning to confront Lage over his plans to change from a back three to a more traditional back four.

Jones has urged chairman Jeff Shi and co. to be ‘cautious’ when planning such drastic alterations, though, claiming they have still enjoyed a successful season.

He told GiveMeSport: “It does sound like radical changes are in the offing, but you have to be so cautious about things like that because however disappointed Wolves might be with how the second half of the season has played out, they are still at a level in the Premier League which is basically the best of the rest.

“And I'm not sure how much further the club can actually expect to go. If they break into the European positions, then that's unbelievable considering the level of competition.”

Who could leave Wolves?

Experienced campaigners Romain Saiss and Joao Moutinho are both out of contract at the end of June, and the former admitted in a recent interview with Sky that he is likely to move onto pastures new next term.

Meanwhile, key midfielder Ruben Neves has reportedly caught the eye of a host of top clubs from across the continent, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona listed amongst his potential suitors.
