The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania was one of the biggest attractions on the WWE calendar.

Each year, interest would peak around who would be the next Superstar to fall victim to The Deadman at the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

At one point, 21 men had stepped up and 21 men had been defeated.

This was, of course, until WrestleMania 30.

Brock Lesnar was next in line to take on The Phenom and many believed that The Beast would become the 22nd soul claimed by The Undertaker in the seemingly never-ending streak.

Yet, something wasn’t right.

As one F-5 turned into two and then three, an audible gasp was heard before the arena fell silent with confusion and disbelief that the streak was actually over.

It’s one of the most shocking moments in WWE history and perhaps Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could be partly to blame.

In the years prior to the loss of the streak, The Rock famously competed in matches against John Cena at both ‘Mania 28 and 29 before continuing his journey into Hollywood.

While advertising his 2014 movie ‘Hercules’, Dwayne Johnson met with Chris Van Vliet where they discussed how he may have inadvertently cost The Undertaker his streak.

“After last year’s WrestleMania (29), the idea was I was going to set up a great match between myself and Brock Lesnar. Then I got hurt and the plan got cancelled.”

The Rock would have continued with WWE and would’ve set up a programme between himself and Brock Lesnar for ‘Mania 30, tying himself up on the night he ended Undertaker’s legendary streak.

Currently, only two men have been able to best The Phenom on the ‘Mania stage as Roman Reigns joined Lesnar in 2017, but, had The Rock not been injured and returned to Hollywood around the time of setting up the feud with Lesnar, perhaps Undertaker’s insane record at WrestleMania would have lasted longer or even still be ongoing today.
