Patrick Vieira: Fan footage emerges from the moment he kicked Everton supporter
Fan footage has been posted on social media which shows Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira was goaded before kicking an Everton supporter.
The incident happened after Everton’s 3-2 win over Palace at Goodison Park on Thursday evening.
Thousands of fans invaded the pitch at full-time as the Toffees secured their Premier League status for another season in dramatic fashion.
Everton found themselves 2-0 down at half-time following goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew.
If they’d lost the game, Everton would have been in serious danger of being relegated to the Championship this weekend.
But Frank Lampard’s side staged a remarkable second-half comeback.
Defender Michael Keane pulled a goal back for the hosts with a neat finish shortly after the restart before Richarlison equalised in the 75th minute.
Then, in the 85th minute, Dominic Calvert-Lewin popped up with the winner, sparking scenes of wild celebration inside Goodison Park.
Everton’s jubilant and relieved fans raced onto the pitch when referee Anthony Taylor blew the full-time whistle.
But there was an unsavoury incident involving an Everton supporter and Vieira, who was crossing the pitch in order to return to the dressing room.

The video shows that Vieira was clearly goaded by the fan, who put the middle finger up at the Frenchman and told him to “f*** off”, before lashing out.
While Vieira’s actions can’t be condoned, the footage certainly explains how the situation got out of control.

Asked about the incident after the match, Vieira told reporters: “I’ve got nothing to say about that.”
