Roman Reigns: Paul Heyman says WWE title feud with Cody Rhodes 'writes itself'

  • Ash Rose

Roman Reigns versus Cody Rhodes is a story that ‘writes itself’ according to the Tribal Chief’s special counsel Paul Heyman

Since Cody Rhodes returned to WWE, he has made it clear that his goal is to be WWE Champion – something his famous father, Dusty Rhodes never achieved in his career. However, to get his hands om the title he needs to go through Roman Reigns, who currently holds both the WWE Championship and Universal Title.

Speaking on a recent appearance on Wrestling Inside The Ropes, Paul Heyman commented on the possibility of a Rhodes vs. Reigns match and said it’s a story that writes itself.

Absolutely, Cody is not only someone with, with an extensive legacy but I mean my God, he’s the son of the American Dream Dusty Rhodes, but he has carved out his niche. He’s achieved his accomplishments. When he couldn’t gain enough traction in WWE to become a legend, to become a legend, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, to become a WWE or universal or unified heavyweight champion, he went out on his own. He quote-on-quote blazed his trail.

He created something, co-created, and helped create something that completely changed the complexion of the industry. He comes back to claim what he feels is his moment. The only way that he’s going to be able to live that moment is to step into the ring with the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. It’s a story that writes itself. Cody Rhodes is a magnificent talent who, whether he is, and he is the son of Dusty Rhodes, but whether he is, or isn’t the son of Dusty Rhodes on his own, just as Joe blow, not as big a name as Cody Rhodes, but still he could take the name, Joe Blow, and he could become huge box office. He’s that talented.

Cody is next in action at WWE’s Hell in a Cell Premium Live Show next month, where he’ll take on Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins in the third instalment of their trilogy. Only this time, they’ll meet inside the confines of the Hell in a Cell steel structure.

Reigns, however, will not be part of next month’s show and The Bloodline’s current focus remains on unifying the WWE Tag Team Titles. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos will meet RK-Bro and their Raw Tag Team Titles this Friday on SmackDown, in a winner takes all match to become the unified tag team champs.
