Terence Crawford is adamant he will fight Errol Spence Jr in 2022 while at the same time calling out Jermell Charlo.

Boxing fans across the world have been desperate to see the pair, 32 and 34 respectively, to share the ring with one another.

And the WBO welterweight world champion opened up about his frustrations that they haven’t been able to make the fight up until now.

However, Crawford insists that that is all in the past, and he is looking forward to what the future holds.

Speaking on The Porter Way podcast, Crawford – who stopped Shawn Porter in ten rounds last November – said: “I’m excited about it, man, I just can’t wait until the contract gets signed and I get to go to training camp.

“Just picturing myself walking down that aisle to put on a great show.

“Because I know me. And I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life – to show everybody that doubts me who Terence Crawford is.

“There’s never been any stumbling blocks.

“Like I said there was never a side of the street till it came to Terence Crawford.

“Terence Crawford divided a side of the street.

“All these stipulations and all these wrong sides of the streets, all these different promotional companies and all these different types of things, they made them up for Terence Crawford.

“In my eyes it was never anything that would stop a great fight from happening.

“It’s right there, it’s right there.

“I’m always 100 per cent confident. This year.

“I meant what I said, once I beat Spence, if Jermell Charlo don’t move up, I’m coming for him.

“I heard he won, congratulations to Charlo, but he’s on my hitlist.

“I’ve got two people on my hitlist, Spence first and then Jermell.”

Crawford, from Omaha, also claims he has always held rival Spence in high regard as he recognises his achievements in the ring.

He continued: “I always gave Errol the respect.

“I never tried to down talk his talent or his skills in any way shape form or fashion.

“I grew up as a boxing fan so when Errol was at the Olympics fighting for the USA team I was rooting for him.

“When he started his professional career I was rooting for him.

“Just like when I fought Gamboa, I never thought I was going to fight Gamboa.

“Gamboa was on the pound-for-pound list, a baby Tyson, and once I got that opportunity I thought, ‘Dang, what the hell is going on?’

“I’m a fan of the sport first.”
