UFC heavyweight Ciryl Gane showed off some of his slick skills outside of MMA recently in a charity football match.

There are plenty of fascinating prospects currently residing on the UFC’s roster but few are as impressive as Ciryl Gane. For someone of his size, the 32-year-old can do things that seem impossible with his speed and footwork being absolutely out of this world.

He’s been listed as someone to ‘keep an eye on’ in the division for the last couple of years and even though he failed in his attempt to capture the UFC heavyweight title from Francis Ngannou, he’s still being tipped to hold the gold at some stage before hanging up his gloves.

A little-known fact about ‘Bon Gamin’ is that away from mixed martial arts, he’s actually quite the football fan. In addition to taking part in a Twitch stream with Kylian Mbappe earlier this year, he’s also been seen attending Ligue 1 games and actually playing in charity football matches.

In his latest outing, Gane proved once again that he’s on a different level than 90% of heavyweights out there when it comes to movement.

If a man that size came hurtling towards you during a Sunday league game on a cold December morning, nobody would blame you for diving out of the way.

What’s next for Gane?

As much as we’d love to see him juggle a semi-pro career with his exploits in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Ciryl Gane has some pretty notable business to attend to later this year.

The former interim champion is set to headline a historic card as the UFC heads to France for the first time ever in September.

It marks a landmark moment for the promotion and also for Gane, given that it’s his home country.

The event will go down in Paris with the main event pitting the Frenchman against the always-dangerous Tai Tuivasa.

Gane will be viewed as the favourite and it’s hard to argue against that logic when taking a look at his body of work.

Alas, with the hype train rising again, it’s time for him to prove that he deserves another crack at the gold.
