Shock ex-WWE star was set for Judgement Day role before release

Speculation continues to mount over which WWE Superstars will be the next members to be added to The Judgement Day faction.

Following Damian Priest’s alliance with Edge at WrestleMania, Rhea Ripley became the latest recruit at WrestleMania Backlash when she helped The Iconoclast defeat AJ Styles and join his new stable.

This week we’ve seen Edge tease WWE fans by posting images of names such as Tomasso Ciampa, Paige and Corey Graves, goading fans into thinking they could be next in line to drop and knee and bow down to the WWE Hall of Famer.

Whilst a host of current names continued to be linked, one Superstar who will not be joining the crew is recently released NXT 2.0 star Parker Bourdreaux, known as Harland.

According to David Meltzer writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Harland was earmarked as a potential addition before his WWE release last month.

As t turns out, even though he did not get great recommendations from people in NXT, Parker Boudreaux aka Harland had been hand picked by Edge to be the fourth person in The Judgment Day. Ringside News reported it and we were told that this was supposed to be a major secret and that Edge had told very few and he was one of the few who knew. They even kept it from Boudreaux, but it is accurate. The only thing we were told as to why it didn’t happen is that the company found something out about Boudreaux and made the decision based on that. The other reason is because of the feeling in NXT that he had stopped improving and he got a tag of getting hurt too much early on.

Much was made of Bourdreaux when he signed for WWE in February last year, with many comparing his look and physique to Brock Lesnar. He was added to the NXT 2.0 roster upon it’s makeover last September, and given a vastly different look to what we’d seen from his social media page.

Introduced under the name Harland, Parker shaved his head and became a silent, monster-like figure, guided and managed by Joe Gacy in a cult leader type role. However, the gimmick proved short-lived and Harland was released from his contract in April 2022.

The Judgement Day trio are currently in the midst of a rivalry with AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Liv Morgan, with the two teams expected to face-off in a six-person tag bout at Hell in a Cell next month.
