Angel Di Maria put on a masterclass in his final Paris Saint-Germain game. While PSG's Ligue 1 clash with Metz on Saturday night might have been dominated by the Kylian Mbappe saga, the home fans were more than aware that it was Di Maria's swan song in France.Having signed for the French giants on the back of a disastrous spell at Manchester United, the Argentine baller has come to love the 'City of Light' as his second home for seven years.

Di Maria waves goodbye to PSG

However, all good things must come to an end and Di Maria is waving goodbye to the Parc des Princes upon the expiration of his contract with a reported move to Juventus on the cards.

And the 34-year-old left the perfect performance for PSG fans to remember him by, pulling the strings as the hosts raced into a 4-0 lead against their relegation-threatened opponents.

Di Maria even got the party started by slipping a superb through ball into Mbappe's path for the opening goal, before later turning provider for Neymar to extend PSG's advantage.

Di Maria scores in final PSG game

But the truly beautiful moment came when Di Maria found the back of the net himself and it certainly felt fitting that it came in a manner typical of his general footballing mantra.

Despite being presented with an open goal in the penalty area to put PSG 5-0 up, the former Real Madrid star took his time to mug off the defender and goalkeeper before converting with aplomb.

Be sure to check out his farewell goal down below because the scenes in Paris became so emotional that the departing Di Maria couldn't hold back the tears.

The beautiful game, ladies and gents.

For all the criticism that can be aimed towards PSG, there can be no denying what the club means to Di Maria with the gravity of his final game for the club clearly washing over him after the goal.

And power to Di Maria for soaking up the moment because he will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most underrated players to have ever sported the blue, red and white jersey.

A guard of honour for Di Maria

Well, underrated generally perhaps, because the love from both PSG's players and supporters were even more apparent when Mauricio Pochettino subbed off Di Maria in the 75th minute.

Not only was he greeted with exactly the kind of rapturous reception that you're imagining in your heads right not, but he was also given a special guard of honour by the players themselves.

You know you've done something right when your farewell game for a club ends like that and no doubt Di Maria will look back on his spell at PSG as the time of his life. Take a bow, Angel.
