The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner played the full 90 minutes as his side thrashed Metz 5-0 at the Parc Des Princes.
Kylian Mbappe, who officially signed a new contract just before the match, notched a hat-trick, with Neymar and the departing Angel Di Maria the other scorers on the night.
Messi was unlucky not to get a goal himself, the little magician hitting the woodwork for the 11th time this season in the second half.
But he did add another assist to his tally, which means he's finished on 14 for the 2021/22 league season - which isn't bad at all.
After taking a look at Messi's stats for the campaign, a thought popped into our heads; how high does the Argentine rank in terms of the best individual Ligue 1 seasons for assists?

Messi is joint-tenth on the list alongside Di Maria's impressive 2019/20 campaign.
Payet is both the only player to feature in the top five twice and the only player to surpass 20 assists in a single Ligue 1 season.
Not bad, Dimitri.
Will a fully-adapted Messi be able to get near Payet's total of 21 in 2022/23? You certainly wouldn't put it past him, especially now that he's guaranteed to be playing with Mbappe.
