City, on a day where their ruthless efficiency was on full display, celebrated their hard-earned title among their adoring home fans at the Etihad Stadium after the most incredible of comebacks.
For Guardiola and co. it will have been an incredibly satisfying moment after what has been a titanic title battle in these last few weeks.
His side held their nerve for the most part and, when faced with the prospect of one of Liverpool’s favourite sons wanting to spoil their party, they showed their bottle.
They certainly had to do it the hard way after going into the break a goal down after a Matty Cash header left the home fans stunned.
Things then got even worse for Guardiola’s side as Philippe Coutinho smashed home to double Villa’s lead.

However, City showed why they are one of the greatest sides ever assembled as they came storming back to climb one of the biggest mountains in history.
One goal went in, then another, and in the space of minutes, City had turned the ship right around to wrestle back control of the title race.
It was Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan with his superb brace who inspired the comeback in what can only be described as one of the greatest title-clinching victories of all time.

It wasn’t long before the jubilant fans had flooded the pitch to celebrate yet another dramatic title win.
It means that City have now won four of the last five Premier League titles, reinforcing their claim to being one of the greatest teams English football has ever seen.
It’s a well deserved victory and you can be sure the lads in Sky Blue will be celebrating long into the night.
