Shocking footage has emerged of the moment Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen was attacked by fans during a pitch invasion after Manchester City won the Premier League title on Sunday.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard replied “No” when asked if his players were all okay following the pitch invasion at the Etihad Stadium.

"My goalkeeper was attacked and I think those questions should go to Pep and Manchester City,” Gerrard, whose side were beaten 3-2 by the champions, told reporters in his post-match press conference. “We'll go and check if he's okay now."

A statement posted by Man City shortly afterwards read: “Manchester City would like to sincerely apologise to Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen, who was assaulted after the final whistle at today’s match when fans entered the pitch.

“The Club has launched an immediate investigation and once identified, the individual responsible will be issued with an indefinite stadium ban.”

But footage shows that it might be more than one person responsible.

Olsen, the Sweden international who was playing due to the absence of the injured Emiliano Martinez, was seen being assaulted by various pitch invaders as security attempted to lead him down the tunnel.
