Mike Tyson reveals his wife has told him to stop flying on public planes after recent altercation

Boxing legend Mike Tyson says his wife has told him to stop flying on public planes – after he was filmed repeatedly punching a fellow passenger in the face onboard a flight.

The former heavyweight world champion, 55, was involved in a melee with Melvin George Towsend III on a JetBlue flight last month.

Footage recorded by a fellow passenger showed Tyson, aka ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’, laying into Townsend, who was left battered and bruised.

However, Townsend declined to press charges, after additional footage showed him repeatedly goading the retired boxer.

Tyson’s legal team released a statement thanking the San Mateo District Attorney, County Sheriff, and all law enforcement agencies involved for their due diligence.

It read: “We thank San Mateo District Attorney Stephen Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County Sheriff, and all law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation for their careful, diligent, and professional work.”

Now wife Lakiha Spencer has told her husband to avoid public transport in an effort to stop him from getting involved in this kind of situation again.

Tyson, who is one of the co-hosts of his hugely successful podcast called Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, said: “Yes, they said they ain’t gonna pick up charges.

“He was f****** with me. I took pictures with this n****. I shouldn’t even be taking public planes.

“My wife gets mad when I take public planes. What am I going to do on a f****** plane with my friends and [a bodyguard] he’s supposed to watch me? A bodyguard and a f****** yes man.

“What am I gonna [sic] do on a plane? It triggers me.”

The dad of seven, who famously purchased 40 acres of land in California to build his very own cannabis ranch in 2020, does not currently have a private jet as far as we know.

Which New York borough was Mike Tyson born in?

However, that may be about to change if his wife has something to say about it.

Asked if he thinks of himself as a legend, he replied: “For me as a person, I appreciate that, but I don’t even look at myself as a human being.

“I just look at myself as a piece of divine energy that’s made for competition.

“I used to always want to be the best in the world at whatever, this, at anything.

“If I’m not the best in the world, I f***ed up.

“Yeah, I’m f***ed. The best me is me conquering the world. After that hole everything was empty.”
