Wolves attacker Morgan Gibbs-White could kick-start his career at Molineux next season, believes Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a fine loan spell at Sheffield United this term, helping them reach the Championship play-offs, and Taylor is now backing him to shine at his parent club.

What is the latest news involving Gibbs-White?

Gibbs-White looks set for a Wolves return following his impressive campaign at Bramall Lane.

As per The Athletic, when discussing the English youngster, Wolves manager Bruno Lage recently said: “If I want him in January [Lage gave him the option to return from his loan spell], I continue to want him. He can be an important player for the club."

It is quite clear that Lage wants Gibbs-White back at Molineux next season, which hardly comes as a surprise after his loan spell.

In total, he made 37 Championship appearances for Sheffield United, including the play-offs, and came up with 22 goal contributions.

What has Taylor said about Gibbs-White?

Taylor has described Gibbs-White's recent loan spell as "unbelievable" and is now tipping him to make a real impact as a Wolves player next term.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Daily Express journalist said: "Morgan Gibbs-White could be a player that sort of really kick-starts his career next season. He's had an unbelievable loan spell with Sheffield United.

"He missed a penalty in the shoot-out, but Conor Coady's already said what a player he's going to become."

Should Lage keep Gibbs-White at Wolves?

Yes. The Portuguese coach has nothing to lose by keeping hold of Gibbs-White and giving him some minutes. In fact, when you look at how some of Wolves' other attackers have performed this season, it is probably a no-brainer.

Between them, for example, Daniel Podence and Francisco Trincao scored just four league goals (via WhoScored), while the latter is only at the club on loan. If he returns to Barcelona, it should open up room for Gibbs-White.

The question is, though, can the Wolves academy graduate do it in the Premier League? The Championship was quite clearly no problem for him, with Poya Asbaghi hailing him as "outstanding".

"He's a really good player," the now ex-Barnsley boss told Yorkshire Live back in March. "I think Sheffield United have a lot of good players, but he is the most outstanding one."

The English top flight, however, is a whole other level. Whatever the case, Gibbs-White has probably done enough to at least earn a spot in Lage's squad for the 2022/23 campaign.
