SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has chosen a surprising name as her dream opponent, admitting she’d like to face Paige

Rousey returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble and at WrestleMania Backlash defeated Charlotte Flair in an I Quit match to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time.

Ahead of Hell in a Cell, however, there is no clear contender for The Baddest Women on the Planet to face having been earmarked to defend against Sasha Banks before her controversial walkout last week.

While her next opponent has yet to be decided, Rousey has revealed who she would love to face in a WWE ring if she was given the choice of anyone from WWE’s past or present.

Speaking on live on Facebook the 35-year-old was asked who her dream opponent would be and responded with a surprising name.

I wish I could wrestle Paige. That’d be fun.

Paige, a former Divas Champion, hasn’t competed in WWE since December 2017 when she suffered a serious neck injury during a live event, and subsequently was forced to retire. She has since appeared on WWE as a manager for the Kabuki Warriors, SmackDown General Manager and as part of the now defunct FOX show WWE backstage.

However, following the return to the ring from the likes of Edge and Daniel Bryan, there have reports suggesting that Paige could make a in-ring comeback. WWE recently changed her status on their website to ‘current superstar’ and Paige herself has hinted at a possible return on her social media accounts.

Coincidentally, Paige’s last tease to WWE fans involved Ronda Rousey. With the 29-year-old posting a message in reply to WWE’s question of who should be Rousey’s next challenger, by suggesting she could be a manager for the current SmackDown Women’s Champion.
