Crystal Palace are interested in re-signing Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £27m-rated defender made the switch from Selhurst Park in the summer of 2019 but having fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, a return to his boyhood club could be on the cards.

What's the latest news involving Wan-Bissaka?

According to BBC Sport, the Eagles are 'considering' a move for the former England Under-21 star, less than three years after they sold him for £50m.

The report says that Wan-Bissaka's wages, which are £90,000 per-week, could stop Palace from signing him permanently, with a loan deal a likelier outcome.

But Wan-Bissaka's future won't be decided until incoming manager Erik ten Hag has had the chance to take a proper look at his squad.

His position at the club has come under serious threat in recent months, with the right-back losing his place in the team to Diogo Dalot. He's made 126 appearances since signing for United, but only seven since the beginning of December.

What did Jones say about Wan-Bissaka?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "It's going to be a massive six weeks for him once Ten Hag gets all of the players back in, because it will determine very quickly whether he will stay or not. Then they've got to figure out where he can go.

"Crystal Palace are interested, but financially, they have to find something to work for them. It would be a massive step back if he ends up back at Crystal Palace next season."

Do Crystal Palace need Wan-Bissaka?

Patrick Vieira currently has three right-backs in his squad, but two of those are out of contract next month in Nathaniel Clyne and Martin Kelly, while Joel Ward, who's been first choice for much of this season, has just 12 months remaining on his contract.

However, Clyne was Vieira's preferred choice towards the end of the season, playing 90 minutes in Palace's last 14 top-flight games, which saw Ward drop to the bench.

Furthermore, the ex-Liverpool star hinted that he would like to extend his stay at the club, with a decision set to be made in the coming weeks.

If Clyne does sign a new contract, then re-signing for the Eagles doesn't make much sense from Wan-Bissaka's point of view.
