England will go into the 2022 World Cup as one of the big favourites to lift the trophy.

Gareth Southgate's side reached the semi-finals of the tournament four years ago, which was their first appearance in the penultimate round since 1990.

England then went one better at Euro 2020 last summer by reaching the final, where they were beaten by Italy on penalties.

But while the Three Lions experienced heartbreak at Wembley Stadium, there's no denying the fact that they're one of the strongest countries on the planet right now.

England possess high-quality options in virtually every department on the pitch, something which was further highlighted by Southgate's latest squad for four UEFA Nations League matches next month.

The 27-man cast named for games against Hungary, Germany and Italy possesses some mighty impressive depth, as we've made clear for all to see in a graphic.

England's insane squad depth

So. Much. Quality.

When you can name a squad that strong without the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Maddison, Ivan Toney, Luke Shaw, Ben Chilwell, Jadon Sancho, Eric Dier, Joe Gomez, Ollie Watkins, Marcus Rashford, Harvey Barnes and Emile Smith Rowe, you know things are looking good for the World Cup.

The addition of the in-form Bowen to the forward line only makes England look stronger, as does the inclusion of Tomori following his sensational season at Milan.

Can England win the 2022 World Cup?

After looking at the names above, you feel that the Three Lions have to, at the very least, reach the semi-finals of the Qatar World Cup.

They should cruise through their group after being drawn against Iran, the United States of America and one of either Scotland, Wales or Ukraine.

Then with regards to the knockout stage, you have to ask one simple question; who looks a stronger outfit compared to England?

Only France and Brazil can really lay claim to having superior squads on paper - in our opinion anyway.

But the likes of Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Germany aren't exactly far behind either, which is why we cannot wait for the World Cup to begin.

November 21st, hurry up!
