Leeds United are expected to welcome four fresh faces to Elland Road and there is 'no doubt' that Jesse Marsch will set his sights on signing a striker, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Whites maintained their Premier League status on the final day of the season, finishing three points clear of the drop zone, and Marsch could look to bolster his options when the summer window opens for business next month.

Who have Leeds been linked with?

Marsch seems to be closing in on his first signing since being appointed as Leeds' head coach in February, with Red Bull Salzburg creative midfielder Brenden Aaronson set to join in a deal worth in the region of £22.3million.

Aaronson is unlikely to be the only attacking addition to the Whites squad as, according to Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Yorkshire giants are going head-to-head with Lazio and Inter Milan for Liverpool star Takumi Minamino.

The Athletic reporter Phil Hay has also revealed Leeds are keeping tabs on at least one striker currently plying their trade in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch, Leeds are facing competition from Liverpool in their bid to sign 18-year-old Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay.

Director of football Victor Orta also stepped up the interest in RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol during the final weeks of the season.

What has Dean Jones said about the situation?

Jones believes Leeds boss Marsch and Orta will look to freshen up the squad with at least four arrivals ahead of next season.

The transfer insider is certain that welcoming a new centre forward to Elland Road is among the Whites' priorities.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "I think, realistically, four good signings is probably what you could expect because of the way the market is going to be in terms of the value of people.

"They're going to go for a striker, there's no doubt about that."

Why are Leeds particularly keen to sign a striker?

As things stand, Patrick Bamford and youngsters Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood are the only out-and-out strikers currently on Leeds' books.

However, Bamford missed large chunks of the season through various injuries and, as a result, was restricted to just 11 appearances.

Bamford, Gelhardt and Greenwood only contributed four goals between them, so it is clear the Whites need more firepower if they want to avoid another relegation dogfight next term.
