The release date for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been announced and your favourite characters will be returning.
The game’s developer, Infinity Ward, has revealed several of the cast members – including a few fan preferences will make a return as the game is set to launch in October.
As a Call Of Duty game, this release is a bit early, since the series typically launches in November, however gaming fans wouldn’t have a reason to complain.
According to the official Call of Duty website, this time around Task Force 141 brings together a global team of veterans, which includes the likes of Captain John Price, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley as well as a new addition.

Task Force 141
Fans of the franchise have been eager to learn more about the next game. Many leaks and unconfirmed rumours about the latest addition have been circulating in the last few months or so, however, fans can now look forward to being on the edge of their seats as the characters take them on action-packed missions.
The latest addition to the unit was Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the Mexican Special Forces. Vargas appeared in a few missions shortly after the infamous airport mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
Captain John Price
Captain John Price, the leader of the unit in the Call of Duty series is a British Special Forces special sniper seen in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Kyle “Gaz” Garrick
Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick is one main playable characters in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). In June 2020, he has been released as a Coalition Operator for the Season Four Pass for Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone. He was also added to Call of Duty: Mobile during the Season twelve pack.
Simon “Ghost” Riley
A prominent member of Task Force 141, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley is known for his skull-patterned balaclava that appears in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone. He is British special forces, which makes him one of the most unprecedented characters in the game.
Simon “Soap” MacTavish
In addition to being under “Ghost'” command, Soap is new to the British Special Air Service and a member of Captain Price’s Bravo Team. During the Ultranationalist crisis, he played a crucial role. Players also play the role of Soap in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
