Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel could be handed six new signings by Todd Boehly, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Boehly's consortium, which consists of the LA Dodgers part-owner, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, is close to taking over the west London club.

What is the latest news involving Chelsea?

Chelsea have been handed a licence by the UK government that will finally allow the Premier League outfit to be sold to Boehly and co.

Following the sanctioning of Roman Abramovich, the Blues needed government approval before a change in ownership could take place, something that they have now got.

It comes as a huge boost to Tuchel, who wants to dip into the transfer market as soon as possible.

"Let’s see when we will finally have the chance to act and make up because the disadvantage in terms of timing for the rebuild is big and we have to be fast and smart," the German was recently quoted as saying by Chelsea's official club website.

What has Jones said about Chelsea?

Jones thinks Chelsea will be hoping to see up to six new faces arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: "There's a lot to be sorted out here. I mean, from a Chelsea fan point of view, I think it'll be quite exciting. I think the squad's gone quite stale; it's been almost boring to watch Chelsea at times.

"I think the fact that there's a refresh, the fact that there's going to be new ownership, will just give everyone a new sense of purpose from the start of next season. From a Chelsea point of view, they'll hope that there'll be, I imagine, six significant new faces in that squad."

Who could Chelsea sign?

With Chelsea failing to tie Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen down to new contracts, with their current deals expiring next month, defence will be Tuchel's priority in the upcoming transfer window.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues have an eight-man shortlist, which consists of the likes of Jules Kounde and Josko Gvardiol, to solve their crisis at the back.

Further forward, the same outlet states that they could also make a move for Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling, who is yet to make a decision on his future.

If Chelsea sign Kounde, Gvardiol, Sterling and three more other players on top of that trio, then it probably will not take long for the Stamford Bridge faithful to fall in love with Boehly.
