The war of words between upcoming rivals Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall has continued, with the two arguing over the Brit's recent injury, which has pushed their fight back to September.Marshall recently revealed details of a "small operation" she underwent on her arm after her fight against Femke Hermans in April but Shields is adamant her opponent is faking the injury.The self-proclaimed boxing 'Gwoat' posted her accusations on social media earlier this week and Marshall has finally responded to set the record straight.Shields wrote a series of loaded tweets, asking questions over the legitimacy of Marshall's surgery. The undisputed light middleweight champion shared a video of The Silent Assassin taking part in The Cube Live Experience in Manchester, in which the boxer can be seen wearing a short sleeved t-shirt and no arm support.Shields believed this was evidence that Marshall was never injured and certainly did not undergo an operation."Look at this! @Savmarshall1 which arm you had surgery on!? Please do tell .………. EXACTLY! Stfu! Not even an arm sleeve! Born a day not yesterday! Faking a damn injury! 'see you in September! Same results! I’m gonna win!' Hating a** bum," she wrote.

After her Twitter rant, Shields spoke to Sky Sports to further discuss the matter.

"She doesn't have on a sling, she doesn't have on a cast, what the hell did you have surgery on?

"If it was me, everybody would want to know."

Shields continued by saying when it comes to injuries, an athlete cannot have the outlook that their word is good enough, and suggested people want to see proof from a doctor or through an X-ray.

She then looked straight down the camera and addressed her opponent directly.

"Stop lying to the fans, you're not injured. You're a bum and I'll see you in September."

The Silent Assassin hit back and stated Shields knew about her injury all along and was informed "about a month ago." But throughout the interview, Marshall looked completely unfazed by Shields' comments and kept smiling throughout, oozing confidence.

"I don't know whether it's just red-chested or [if] she's just opened her inbox, I haven't a clue with that girl."

The burning feud between these two women goes way back. Marshall is the only fighter to have ever beaten Shields at any level of boxing throughout her career, meaning this upcoming clash is very much a grudge match for the Gwoat.

The Silent Assassin beat Shields at amateur level at the London 2012 Olympics and is eager to prove she can defeat her again. Meanwhile, Shields is sticking to her guns that Marshall's win was a one-off and is set on proving a point when the two finally meet.

Both women are undefeated in their professional careers and this rising heat outside of the ring promises for an epic meeting between the two.
