Celtic will sign Tottenham centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The Hoops have been hoping to turn the USA international's loan deal into a permanent one since January, and Bridge finally expects the transfer to happen in the upcoming window.

What's the latest news involving Carter-Vickers?

Having spent time out on loan at several EFL clubs in recent years, the defender arrived at Celtic Park hoping to find a permanent home, with his deal back at Spurs heading into the final 12 months.

And Carter-Vickers almost immediately made himself a regular in Ange Postecoglou's team, featuring 45 times in all competitions to help Celtic win the Scottish League Cup and Scottish Premiership title.

As a result, the Glasgow giants wanted to sign him in January, although they were unable to reach an agreement with Tottenham, despite being set a £10m asking-price by the Premier League club.

Postecoglou recently spoke publicly about Carter-Vickers and made it clear that he wants him to return next season.

And the Daily Record believe the American has agreed personal terms ahead of a permanent switch, although Postecoglou's charges have just three weeks to complete a deal before other clubs can join the race.

The deal is set to cost the Hoops around £6m, although it could rise to £10m with add ons, and Bridge expects the transfer to eventually happen.

What did Bridge say about Carter-Vickers?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think that will happen, because he's a player who's been on loan to every other club, he's never found his home. He's had about 20 EFL loans, but he's ended up winning the title with Celtic, so I think he's found his home there."

Are Celtic close to signing anyone else?

Carter-Vickers wasn't the only player to spend the campaign on loan at Parkhead, Portuguese winger Jota did, too.

And much like the on-loan Tottenham star, Jota enjoyed a fine season north of the border, directly contributing to 27 goals in all competitions.

Therefore, Celtic also want to sign him permanently, and according to Sky Sports, they're on the verge of completing a £6m deal with Benfica for the attacker's services.

Having activated the option-to-buy, Jota told his parent club that he wants to join on a permanent basis, with the deal expected to be announced later this week.
