Monaco GP weather: What is the forecast this weekend?

The 2022 Formula 1 World Championship heads to Monte-Carlo this weekend for the Monaco Grand Prix, as round 7 of the campaign is held at the most iconic of all race tracks.

It’s a circuit that the drivers absolutely adore, and with good reason.

The tight, twisting sections where you’re on the limit, flying around at 200mph and close to the walls makes for the ultimate test of driving precision and skill and, though the race can sometimes be a bit of a conga line with few overtaking opportunities, there’s still no escaping just how talented the drivers need to be to get a result at this Grand Prix.

The only thing that can make the race weekend harder for the drivers? The weather. And that’s what we’re taking a look at now – will it rain in Monaco this weekend?

Friday

The weekend in Monaco starts off with bright sunshine and warm temperatures.

We’re looking at highs of 27C and likely dry running, though there’s a 20% chance of rain later on in the afternoon which might just encroach on FP2.

Saturday

On Saturday, things will remain warm and dry with highs again potentially up to 27C.

Saturday is also set to be the dryest day of all with a 0% chance of rain currently being forecast, which means the most important qualifying session of the year is set to be held in optimum conditions for the drivers, who will look to push flat out around Monte-Carlo.

Sunday

There could be a change in the weather come Sunday, though, which might certainly turn race day into an absolute classic.

The Monaco Grand Prix can be a little processional at times but when it rains the ultimate test of Grand Prix racing gets even tougher.

And, according to latest forecasts, there’s a 60% chance of rain for the race, with temperatures coming down to 22C.

We could be set for quite the weekend at the famous old venue, then.
