It’s set to be a busy summer at Hotspur Way as the north London outfit prepare to back Conte in the transfer market with a significant budget.
What is the latest news involving Tottenham?
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici will fly to Italy to hold talks with Conte and is ready to promise that they will try to make at least six new signings.
And Spurs’ hopes of keeping their enigmatic leader received a significant boost after it was revealed their majority shareholder ENIC Sports Inc are set to pump an extra £150 million into the club.
The investment can be spent on transfer and wages if needed, and one player who could now be targeted is Gueye of Paris Saint-Germain.
French outlet Jeunes Footeux recently reported that Tottenham are monitoring the Senegal international’s situation at the Parc des Princes with his contract set to expire in just over 12 months’ time and Paratici said to be ‘on alert’.
What has Jones said about Gueye?
Jones has labelled Gueye a ‘warrior’ due to his tenacious attitude on the pitch and believes his winning mentality could be something that appeals to Conte.

In an interview with GiveMeSport: “He’s obviously a warrior, and there’s this sort of player that Conte wants to see in there.
“He’s got this real feeling that losing games didn’t hurt Tottenham enough, so he’s trying to look for players of a certain character at the moment.”
Would Gueye be a good signing?
It’s questionable whether Spurs fans would want someone who holds such beliefs to represent their team, but there is little doubting the midfielder’s ability.
As per FBref, Gueye has ranked in the 98th percentile for pass competition, 95th for pressures and 93rd for tackles amongst his positional peers over the last year.
During his time in Paris, the defensive-minded dynamo has also collected two Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups and a French League Cup, while winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
The 32-year-old’s experience could prove to be pivotal for Conte at Spurs as he looks to transfer their fortunes and end their trophy drought.
