Tyson Fury has taken to Twitter to deliver his response after footage emerged of Anthony Joshua storming into a university flat and threatening students who had been heckling him.

The Gypsy King mocked AJ, tweeting: “I have this effect on the best of them.”

In a video released by The Sun, AJ is seen delivering a stern threat to a group of students who had allegedly been ridiculing him over his reluctance to face Fury in the ring.

AJ is heard stating: “Remember you’re running your mouth because when I start cracking your glass jaws, none of you will like it. Watch your mouths because you don’t know who you’re talking to sometimes.”

A witness said: “I don’t think they expected him to retaliate, and I don’t think they’ll be doing something like that again. But why would you target one of the toughest guys on the planet?”

While another claimed: “Lots of profanity and abusive language was chucked at him while the students hid in an upstairs window. They picked on the wrong man."

Joshua has been training at the University of Loughborough under new trainer Angel Fernandez for his upcoming bout with Oleksandr Usyk.

However, fans are desperate to see Fury and AJ meet in the ring.

The fight was reportedly agreed upon before Fury was faced to pursue a third meeting with Deontay Wilder. The People’s Champion has since retired from the boxing world, and it appears there is now slim hope of a Fury vs AJ fight.

Nonetheless, AJ remains hopeful that Fury can be tempted out of retirement to face the winner of his rematch with Usyk.

AJ said: ”First and foremost, I have a pound-for-pound fighter on my list in Usyk, who’s a tough competitor for sure. People say I only focus on what’s in front of me, which is a good way to be, but also I want to look at what the bigger picture holds so I can steamroll through, I have to, so I can get to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

“So, for sure, I feel like retirement doesn’t mean that you’ve completely given up and you’re on the beach clicking your phone drinking a bottle of Corona. I feel he’s still ticking over and he’ll come back if the right fight is presented to him.”
