Cody Rhodes has teased fans with a tweet that could suggest he could be the cover star of the next WWE video game instalment WWE 2K23.
Since his return to WWE at WrestleMania last month, WWE has presented Rhodes as a major player on Raw. Adding a âCountdown to Codyâ clock to his appearances on the show, and heâs line to main event Hell in a Cell on Sunday week, with his clash against Seth âFreakinâ Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell.
With his profile bigger than it has ever been in WWE, podcaster James Stewart put forward the idea of having Rhodes as the cover star for the next video game in their franchise, WWE 2K23.Â
In response The American Nightmare didnât exactly reveal that heâs in-line to grace the cover of the new game, however, he did hint that heâs set to play a big part in the project.
I donât know the talented folks at @WWEgames- but Iâm a pretty decent gambler and I would bet theyâre working very hard on something special for pro wrestling fans...
The spot on the cover of WWEâs popular 2K series has long been seen as a coveted position, and over the yearâs weâve seen big hitter such as Becky Lynch, Goldberg, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the current, which sees Rey Mysterio as its cover star.
According to a report from Sports Gamers Online, there had been an idea pitched for Cody to be part of WWE 2K22, once it was known that he was returning to the company. The plan was to have Rhodes as a special DLC character to celebrate his comeback, but according to âa person close to the developmental teamâ it was quickly shot down.Â
