For those wondering, the 2022 Qatar World Cup will affect the Premier League season and there will be a mid-season break during the 2022/23 Premier League campaign. This is due to the fact that a lot of footballers from Premier League clubs will be involved in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Some great players, like Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland, will not be at the tournament as their countries (Egypt and Norway) failed to qualify for the World Cup. This could be ideal for some players so that they can rest up for the second half of the season.

Key Dates

  • Saturday 6th August 2022: Start of the Premier League season
  • Saturday 12th November – 13th November 2022: Final round of Premier League games before World Cup. Following this, there will be a mid-season break until the end of the 2022 Qatar World Cup
