WWE will not be ending the brand spilt anytime soon, despite recent appearances from Superstars crossing brands.

Rumours circulated this week that WWE were planning on ending the brand spilt and allowing Superstars to flow from both Raw and SmackDown. With The Usos now holding both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles and Roman Reigns’ monopoly of WWE’s world titles, speculation had mounted that it could be down to WWE putting an end to spilt rosters across both shows.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen both RK-Bro and The Usos appear on Raw and SmackDown, while Sami Zayn and Los Lotharios have also competed on Raw despite being SmackDown Superstars.

However, Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast spoke to WWE sources about the situation and has confirmed that there is no plan to end the brand spilt, but there may be more Superstars swapping shows if it works for the storyline.

Spoke with WWE regarding the brand split this morning WWE source stated that the brand split will not be ending. However, the current plan is to have more individuals jump from brand to brand depending on storylines. #WWE #WWERAW #SmackDown

Previously WWE have created loopholes in the brand spilt and labelled them ‘Wildcard Rules’ or a ‘Brand to Brand Invitational’, however, the current plan looks to be a looser arrangement. Allowing talent to compete on different brands if it works in the context of the story they are telling.

WWE last mixed up the rosters in October 2021, which saw Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair as the headline acts moving to SmackDown, while Raw was given Bianca Belair and Seth Rollins. It also saw the infamous belt swapping angle between Flair and Becky Lynch.

Reports earlier this month alluded to the 2022 draft taking place earlier in the year, with the pencilled plan being for September, after Cardiff’s Clash at the Castle show.
