NFL reporter Ian Rapaport has claimed that Colin Kaepernick and his trial with the Las Vegas Raiders appears to have gone off without a hitch.

Having not played a down of football since he was with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016, the year he began protesting against social injustice in America, Colin Kaepernick looks as if he could be on his way back into the game of football with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The 34-year-old took part in a workout with the team yesterday as he tries to make his way back into the league after years of failed attempts as well as a lawsuit against the NFL in which he accused them of colluding in order to keep him out of the league.

The Las Vegas Raiders already have their established franchise quarterback on the roster in the form of Derek Carr, but there is always room for an experienced backup in the building, and having been the 49ers starter for the best part of 5 seasons, he has more experience than the likes of Chase Garbers, Nick Mullens and Jarrett Stidham who currently occupy the quarterback room.

How much is left in the tank?

Having been out of the game since 2016, there is obviously a lot of catching up for him to do, but if he can be even half as good as he was back in his prime in 2012-2014, then a team will be getting their hands on a very capable backup in the league:

And judging by what Ian Rapaport had to say, it sounds as if his first steps to coming back and being someone have taken him in the right direction.

How did he do coming back?

Taking to Twitter, Rapaport claimed that he ‘impressed’ with what he was able to pull off within the Raiders facility and that the door appeared to be ‘open’ for him to make a comeback to the league:

A report from ProFootballTalk claims that before the tryout with the Raiders, there were two other teams who were showing an interest to bringing him on board. So if his workout was impressive, then it might not only open the door for the Raiders to sign him, but possibly one of the other teams around the league as well.
