Diehard fans of the industry are aware that there are a few words that the WWE don’t like its talent using live on TV.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported several words that McMahon has banned WWE stars from using.
Words banned from the WWE include: “DQ, Non-Title, Head Shot and Choke.”
Alvarez believes that the word “attack” is banned because of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
“By the way, I don’t know this 100% so please don’t write some f****** article about this on the internet,” Alvarez said, as per WrestlingNews.
“But the other night, I don’t know if it was on SmackDown or it was on Raw… but they did one of their 85 post-match angles… I think it was Seth Rollins attacking Cody. He goes ‘Seth Rollins has attacked Cody. I’m sorry, assaulted.’ And they just kept going.
“I was like, that was f****** weird. And I went back and listened to it again. And sure as s*** he goes, ‘Seth Rollins has attacked Cody. I’m sorry, assaulted Cody.’ And then he just moves on and I thought is this f****** word banned?
“And so I asked someone there and unofficially they also believe that you can no longer say the word ‘attack’ and I don’t even want to say this because it will end up as a story, but you know they basically said like, ‘Russia attacked Ukraine so we don’t want to use the word attacked. Now you have to say assaulted.’ I was like, what?!”
Alvarez went on to say: “It was so weird that he said the wrong word and then apologised… So anyway, I don’t think you can say ‘attacked’ in WWE right now.”
