Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin: Beginner Tips

tranger of Paradise Final Fantasy

We’ve compiled a list of six useful tips for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is a Koei Tecmo Games and Team Ninja action role-playing game. You take on the role of Jack, whose ultimate goal is to hunt down and defeat Chaos with the help of the other Warriors of Light, all while removing the darkness that has descended upon the Kingdom of Cornelia.

The game was launched on March 18th, 2022, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It may have some recognizable names, settings, and themes, but it’s a fresh take on an ancient story with more cruel and demanding gameplay than the franchise has ever seen.

Although the hero of Stranger of Paradise is on a single-minded mission to find and slay Chaos, the journey is more challenging than hitting dark knights with horned helmets.

If you’re new to the latest Final Fantasy game, here are our six beginner tips.

Final Fantasy Origin Beginner Tips

During the first few missions of Final Fantasy Origin, you will be overwhelmed with information. There’s a lot to keep track of between jobs, weaknesses, MP skills, and more, and that’s before you consider the things they don’t tell you. You’ll find your rhythm as time goes on, but these six tips will lessen some of the stress.

Strangers of Paradise

1. Don’t rush into combat encounters

While it may be tempting to charge headfirst at every enemy, larger, more threatening enemies, aren’t as easily disoriented as smaller enemies like Goblins, so approach them carefully. If an enemy appears to be overwhelming at first, take your time and learn their attack patterns. It’s sometimes best to focus on decreasing their Break Gauge for a Soul Burst rather than simply draining their health points.

2. Choose your favourite jobs

Find out which Jobs are worth investing in, and then decide which one seems the most intriguing to your playing style. Remember that Advanced Jobs are unlocked by reaching the end of a Basic Job Tree’s path, so even if you don’t like some of the early game Jobs, you may need them to unlock a more interesting Job later on.

3. Complete side quests

After finishing the main story quest, you’ll almost always be able to access side quests to accomplish in that realm. While these side quests may present a slightly more difficult challenge, they are usually short and provide the possibility to earn high-level equipment drops as well as a large number of Anima Shards. Even better, if you’re having trouble defeating the more difficult enemies, you can simply abandon the assignment and keep all of your stuff.

4. Visit the smithy often

Between missions, go to the Smithy from the Main Menu. You can disassemble equipment here to gain materials that you can use to upgrade your weapons and armour. Note that you must destroy the equipment of the same rarity to level it up, as upgrade materials are rarity dependent.

5. Take out magic-based enemies first

Enemies with mainly magic-based attacks, such as Bombs and Elementals, should be eliminated as soon as possible. Repeatedly being struck by magic makes you more vulnerable to it, and you’re more likely to be affected by status effects as well.

6. Charge your spells

In the rush of tutorial information, it’s easy to forget the fact that you can use high-level spells like Firaga as soon as you unlock the mage class. You can charge the magic up to three levels by holding the cast button instead of releasing it. It’s not a good idea to use it when you’re surrounded by enemies, but it’s great for focusing on elemental weaknesses and distant enemies.
