New York Giants rookie wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson might have just made a name for himself within the circles of the team after an impressive catch during OTAs.

The New York Giants have certainly been in something of a slump in the past few years, far gone from the days of Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin that saw them win two Super Bowl titles and appear in numerous other trips to the playoffs.

Having moved on from that regime, the team have failed to make the postseason in each of the last 5 seasons, with their best effort being a 6-10 campaign in 2020. Those poor performances have enabled them to pick low in the draft and this year there seems to be some positivity coming out after their recruitment in the 2022 NFL Draft.

With the additions of defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux and offensive tackle Evan Neal in the first round, there are some people who think that this might be the draft class to turn things around for them. But whilst the likes of Thibodeaux and Neal will get a lot of talk being first-rounders, their second-round selection in Wan’Dale Robinson looks to have made a great impression already.

Who is Wan’Dale Robinson

In a draft that was renowned for its wide receiver talent, with 28 going in total and as many as 6 going in the first round, all of whom were inside the top 20, the message was pretty clear, there was a lot of talent at the position for teams to choose from.

The Giants used their 2nd round pick on Robinson out of Kentucky, with two previous years at Nebraska where he had a stellar final season in college football, putting up 1,334 yards for 7 touchdowns as he helped the Wildcats reach a 10-3 record in the SEC.

But this catch might be his most impressive yet.

What’s he done?

OTAs are an important part of the preparation for a rookie, it’s the first opportunity they have to compete against professional players and gets them ready for the season ahead as they get set to take on a new challenge.

Robinson though is making the whole thing look easy as footage posted by SportsNet New York showed him making a tremendous leap to grab a deep ball from Daniel Jones despite some very tight coverage from cornerback Aaron Robinson:

With plenty of competition for spots in this Giants roster, with the likes of Kenny Golloday, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton to name just a few, Robinson is going to need something to stand out from the crowd in order to help him make an impact this season.

And a catch like this might just be exactly what he needs.
