Antonio Conte could win the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur next season. There, we said it.

The key word in that statement is most certainly 'could' because there's no denying that it would take a monumental effort from any club, Tottenham or not, to usurp Manchester City and Liverpool at the rate they're going.

However, if there's anyone who could fire Spurs to the unlikeliest of league triumphs, then you can bet your bottom dollar that it's Conte.

Project Conte at Tottenham

Just look at the fact that Conte managed to elevate a Chelsea side that had finished 10th the previous season to one of the highest Premier League points tallies ever to appreciate his ability to skyrocket teams.

And with reports suggesting that Daniel Levy will back the former Juventus and Inter Milan coach in the summer transfer window, we could finally see Spurs lining up exactly how their manager wants them to.

Besides, you only have to look at the inspired acquisitions of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski to see the positive steps that Tottenham are making towards becoming a Conte side.

How could Spurs line up in 2022/23?

So, bearing all of that in mind, we wanted to dust off our crystal ball and imagine how Tottenham might line up for the 2022/23 season once the summer transfer window slams shut.

We've based our prediction upon the areas in which Spurs need to improve the most as well as the realistic targets they could hone in on to make that happen.

And if you didn't believe us when we first said that Tottenham can win the Premier League next season, then perhaps you will when you see the frightening XI that Conte could be leading into battle.

In total, we introduced three signings in defence because it's in Conte's go-to back five that the current Spurs squad lacks the resources and quality to truly mount a title challenge.

The front three of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Kulusevski is stellar, Hugo Lloris is still a superb number goalkeeper and there's a lot to love about the midfield duo of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Bentancur.

Three signings Spurs should make

As such, it's the two wing-back positions and left centre-back slot which have drawn our attention and we've filled them with the exciting trio of Filip Kostić, Alessandro Bastoni and Ivan Perisic.

According to the Telegraph, Perisic is one of Conte's top targets with his former Inter collaborator - whose ambidextrous nature makes him an asset on either flank - having shone in the wing-back position.

Bastoni would be the most expensive procurement of the three, but arguably the most important, fitting hand in glove with Conte's system having won the Serie A title under his stewardship last season.

The Inter juggernaut is also name-dropped as a 'top target' in the Telegraph report and would round off an iron-clad trio of centre-backs alongside the superb Cristian Romero and ever-improving Eric Dier.

Finally, Kostic completes the defensive facelift over on the left as something of a Marcos Alonso surrogate, playing on the front foot with an eye for an assist having accumulated 13 for Eintracht Frankurt this season.

Football.london reported just this week that the north London club are expected to make a move for the 29-year-old, who is now in the final year of his contract.

Spurs' potential XI for 2022/23

That's a tantalising hat-trick of upgrades if you ask us, so be sure to get the full picture by checking out how they all fit into Tottenham's potential XI for the 2022/23 season down below:

Enough to win the Premier League?

Is it a better starting XI than City's, Liverpool's or even Chelsea's? No, no it's not, but Premier League titles aren't won on paper and that line-up is perfectly geared up to make 'Conte ball' flow as effectively as possible.

With three decisive signings that wouldn't break the bank, you can see Spurs shaping up with a far stronger back five than one populated by Ben Davies, Emerson Royal and even Sergio Reguilón.

In fact, we'd go as far as to say that it's probably the final form of a Tottenham side under Conte barring an alternate reality where he was able to spend £300 million at the drop of a hat.

Whether or not that would be enough to close the gap to City and Liverpool is up for debate, but we'll die on the hill that Conte could - key word again, folks - turn that into a title-winning side if the circumstances fell in his favour.

After all, if Conte can't lead that potential Spurs side to Premier League glory, then no one can.
