Mohamed Salah picks Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool teammate in dream 5-a-side team

Mohamed Salah has picked Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his dream 5-a-side team

Mohamed Salah has had an extraordinary 2021/22 season.

The Egyptian forward has scored 31 times in 50 games so far this campaign.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot for his exploits, while he was instrumental as the Reds were triumphant in both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

Salah will be hoping to lead Liverpool to the treble when they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday evening.

Salah has extra motivation to emerge victorious after the events of the 2018 Champions League final, where Liverpool were defeated by Real and the Egyptian was forced off in the first-half through injury.

Ahead of the game in Paris, Rio Ferdinand asked Salah to give his dream five-a-side team (excluding goalkeepers) of players currently playing today.

View who he went with below…

DEF: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Salah only picked one defender for his side – Liverpool teammate, Alexander-Arnold.

The Englishman possesses incredible technical ability, having recorded 19 assists in 2021/22.

MDF: Mohamed Salah

Salah couldn’t resist going with himself. And who can blame him? He’s been incredible this campaign.

MDF: Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe finished the season with 65 goal contributions (39 goals, 26 assists) in just 46 games for PSG. Not bad at all, that.

FWD: Lionel Messi

Messi was not at his very best in his first season at PSG but Salah had to include him.

FWD: Cristiano Ronaldo

Despite now playing for Liverpool’s main rivals, Manchester United, Salah included Ronaldo in his side.

Now that is a very attacking side to say the least. They wouldn’t have any trouble scoring goals, but they may concede a fair few, too!

Ferdinand also asked Salah who he thought the best player in the world is right now.

After being told he couldn’t name himself, Salah went with Mbappe and Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema.

Salah will be hoping that Liverpool’s defence will be able to contain Real’s talisman in the final at Stade de France.
