Gervonta Davis secured a spectacular victory over Rolando Romero with a sensational knockout last night.

For all of the interesting exchanges in the build-up to the fight, the two had a rather calm and composed affair for the first six rounds.

It looked like Romero was up to the job and could maybe produce the result he claimed he would, however, Davis then did what everyone expected him to, with a left hand counter for the ages.

Romero didn’t have any response to it, as you can see in the video further down this article.

Speaking of his crazy punch, Davis said: “The crazy thing is I didn't even throw that hard.

“I just threw it and he ran right into it. Thank God he's good."

This is all a part of his routine now, though, and he will want to continue with it for years to come.

Look at that, would you? Imagine being punched like that. Most of us would do well to walk again for a while after that.

Following his latest win, on the cards is either the big one against Ryan Garcia, who will have a point to prove himself, or against the winner of the lightweight title fight between Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr.

Davis has already sent a clear message to whoever he gets to face next.

"I'm here, baby, I'm here," he said.

"Whatever they want to do, I'm here baby. There's no safety on this Glock, you know? There's no safety on this Glock and I've got a lot of ammunition.”

Safe to say, Garcia is different gravy. He won’t be anything like any of Davis’ previous opponents, which is to say, the latter would have a mountain to climb.

He has been on the up, yes, but Garcia already sits atop the pile.Â
