The hours leading up to Saturday evening's Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid can only be described as absolute chaos. Crowd safety issues outside the Stade de France delayed the kick-off of the match, as well as the pre-game performance of special guest Camila Cabello.

The multi-platinum selling singer was due to entertain supporters in attendance with a medley of her biggest hits before the showpiece occasion got underway.

However, many Liverpool fans were still struggling to gain entry to the stadium - even after the 30-minute delay. Eyewitnesses confirmed that supporters had been tear gassed and pepper sprayed by police officers while others were turned away, despite having tickets.

Of those that were able to get into the ground without incident, not many seemed interested in listening to Cabello's set. The same was seemingly true in the Real Madrid end, too.

Both sets of supporters passionately belted out their club's respective anthems while Cabello was on stage - and the former member of girl group Fifth Harmony was far from impressed.

In a pair of now-deleted tweets, the 25-year-old raged about the behaviour of the fans during her set.

"Playing back our performance and I can't believe people were singing their teams anthems so loud during our performance. Like my team and I worked tirelessly for so long to bring the right vibes and give a good show," she complained to her 12.8 million followers on the social media platform.

Still clearly frustrated, she posted again a few minutes later.

"Very rude but whatever. I'M GLAD U GUYS LOVED IT."

We're guessing that someone close to her probably realised this wasn't the best look for her brand, as the tweets were hauled down pretty rapidly.

Cabello has a number of tour dates coming up at various locations around the world, where she'll no doubt be greeted with massive enthusiasm by thousands of adoring fans. It's unlikely, however, that too many of them were in the Stade de France on Saturday.

Having parted with thousands to follow their teams to the French capital, supporters of both sides were always going to take every opportunity to represent their club as vocally as possible.

Champions League quiz: How well do you remember the 21/22 season?

Back in 2018, a unique bond was created between Liverpool fans and English singer Dua Lipa before their Champions League final clash with Real in Kiev. That night, the travelling Reds adopted her hit song 'One Kiss' as one of their unofficial anthems - and it remains so to this day.

It seems Cabello won't enjoy that same warm relationship with the Anfield supporters, especially after her ill-judged Twitter tirade.
