Mick Schumacher has suffered a horrendous-looking crash at the Monaco Grand Prix after losing control of his car.

The Haas driver thankfully walked away unscathed in an incident which saw the rear detach from the rest of the car.

The collision took place on lap 27 when the German lost control of his car after exiting a corner in the swimming pool section.

The car spun, clipping the Armco barrier before crashing into the Tecpro barrier.

The initial contact took the majority of the pace out of Schumacher’s car, which thankfully allowed for a less severe hit than first feared.

Schumacher confirmed his status via the team radio, saying: “I’m OK, I just don’t understand it!”

The race was red-flagged, with the remaining drivers sent back to pits whilst the barrier was repaired.

Poor weather had forced the race to be delayed earlier, with drivers forced to adjust to the changing track conditions.

Although Schumacher came into the Monaco Grand Prix with zero points, his team has been enjoying a decent start to the season, with Haas sitting in eighth position in the Constructors’ Championship.
