Leeds United winger Raphinha's Elland Road exit is 'almost certainly going to happen' this summer, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The Brazilian played a key role in keeping the Whites in the Premier League after scoring from the penalty spot in the final day win over Brentford, but that may turn out to be his final appearance for the Yorkshire giants.

What's the latest news involving Raphinha?

Maintaining their top flight status means Leeds are not facing up to the possibility of a cut-price release clause coming into play for Raphinha.

However, suitors have not been deterred by the wide-man's situation and his father has admitted 'possibilities exist' over a potential move to Barcelona.

According to Spanish sources, Raphinha has already told Leeds' hierarchy that he wants to head to the Nou Camp ahead of next season.

He was also the subject of a big-money bid from West Ham United during the January transfer window, but the east Londoners were frustrated in their attempts as a £50million bid was rejected.

Raphinha is about to enter the final two years of his £60,000-per-week contract, so Leeds are not in a pressing need to sell him ahead of next season.

What has Jacque Talbot said about Raphinha?

Talbot believes Raphinha will get his wish and join Barcelona before the upcoming summer transfer window slams shut.

The journalist feels it is more likely that Raphinha will leave Elland Road than fellow winger Jack Harrison, who has attracted interest from Newcastle United.

Talbot told GIVEMESPORT: "I'm told that Raphinha will end up at Barcelona - that's almost certainly going to happen. I think that will happen and that's going to bolster them.

"But then you've got Newcastle looking at Jack Harrison as well. That's the same sort of area, so will they want to let both of them go? I'm not sure about that."

Why is Raphinha gaining interest from other clubs?

Raphinha cost Leeds £17million plus add-ons less than two years ago, so his impressive form is emphasised by the fact he is now valued at £40.5million by Transfermarkt.

Leeds may have struggled in the 2021/22 season, but the 25-year-old was still the Whites' top goalscorer, so he played a pivotal role in Jesse Marsch's side narrowly steering clear of a return to the Championship.

Since heading to Yorkshire from French side Rennes, Raphinha has found the back of the net 17 times, registered 12 assists and won seven international caps for Brazil.
