On May 30, 2010, England's U17s were crowned European Championship winners.

After winning all three of their Group B games, John Peacock's side defeated France to book their spot in the final against Spain.

Spain took an early lead through Gerard Deulofeu, but England battled back to win 2-1 and lift the trophy.

12 years have passed since England won the competition and the players should now be in their prime.

But have those that represented England at the tournament fulfilled their potential? Find out below...

Sam Johnstone

Where were they in 2010? Manchester United
Where are they in 2022? West Brom

Johnstone has picked up three England caps and is often included in Gareth Southgate's squads. He is on the verge of a move to Crystal Palace, per BBC.

Bruno Pilatos

Where were they in 2010? Middlesbrough
Where are they in 2022? Unknown

Unfortunately Pilatos did not make the grade as a professional footballer. He was listed as playing for Bishop Auckland FC in the English ninth tier in 2020/21, but no longer appears on their website.

Luke Garbutt

Where were they in 2010? Everton
Where are they in 2022? Blackpool

Garbutt only made 12 appearances for Everton before leaving the club in 2020.

Coady played twice for Liverpool. He's now captain of Wolves and is a regular in Southgate's England squads.

Nathaniel Chalobah

Where were they in 2010? Chelsea
Where are they in 2022? Fulham

Chalobah has recently been promoted back to the Premier League with Fulham.

Wisdom left Derby County in 2021. He has trialled for numerous Championship clubs in the 2021/22 season - including Birmingham City and Sheffield United - but has not been handed a permanent deal.

Will Keane

Where were they in 2010? Manchester United
Where are they in 2022? Wigan Athletic

Keane scored 27 goals in 2021/22 as Wigan were crowned League One champions.

Thorne has suffered numerous injuries in recent years. He has been without a club since departing Oxford United in 2020.

Benik Afobe

Where are they in 2022? Millwall (on loan from Stoke City)

Afobe enjoyed one of his most productive seasons of his career in 2021/22 as he scored 12 times in the Championship for Millwall.

Saido Berahino

Where were they in 2010? West Bromwich Albion
Where are they in 2022? Sheffield Wednesday

After impressing for West Brom, Berahino signed for Stoke in a £15m move in 2017. That move didn't work out though as he scored just five times for the club before departing two years later. He has re-found his feet at Sheffield Wednesday, scoring nine times in the 2021/22 season. He has also been capped 16 times by Burundi.

Robert Hall

Where are they in 2022? Barnet

Hall played 39 times for National League side Barnet in 2021/22, scoring four times.

Butland played nine times for England but suffered a monumental loss of form. Now 29, he's currently Crystal Palace's backup goalkeeper.

McEachran made 22 appearances for Chelsea before being shown the door. He was a key part of an MK Dons side that reached the League One playoffs in the 2021/22 campaign.
