West Ham United star Tomas Soucek's future at the London Stadium is in doubt after David Moyes has looked at welcoming a host of central midfielders to the club, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Soucek has made 105 appearances since joining the Hammers from Slavia Prague, but there are question marks over whether he will still be in east London by the time next season gets underway.

What's the latest news involving Soucek?

According to ExWHUemployee, via West Ham Zone, the Hammers are willing to listen to offers for Soucek during the summer transfer window.

It comes after talks over a new contract were put on hold at the behest of boss Moyes during the final weeks of the 2021/22 campaign.

While that is the case, the 27-year-old's £47,000-per-week contract still has more than two years to run, so West Ham are not necessarily in an immediate rush to sanction his departure.

However, Football Insider have suggested the Czech's exit could be on the cards following a bust-up with Moyes behind the scenes and tensions have risen.

While ExWHUemployee has claimed there has not been a falling out between Soucek and the West Ham chief, he has confirmed the central midfielder could be allowed to move onto pastures new as a result of contract talks failing to progress.

What has Dean Jones said about Soucek?

Jones believes West Ham's quest to bolster their options in the middle of the park would suggest that Soucek's position in the team is in doubt.

The transfer insider has urged Hammers supporters to be mindful of the possibility that the ex-Slavia Prague ace could walk away from the London Stadium in the not-too-distant future.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "Obviously, they are being linked with other midfielders at the moment.

"Kalvin Phillips and James Ward-Prowse have both been linked. I don't think anything's imminent on either of those, but it's interesting that they're the sort of players that are being linked. Obviously, Jesse Lingard is still being talked about as well.

"If there are these midfield players being talked about, then you wonder what's happening there. I do think it's a situation to keep an eye on."

Would Soucek's exit come as a surprise?

Soucek has been a huge factor in West Ham's success in recent seasons, with his 19 goals since joining taking the strain off the likes of Michail Antonio.

Although the 48-cap Czech Republic international did not find the back of the net as frequently during the 2021/22 campaign, with just six efforts, he was still one of the first names on the team-sheet and failed to break into the box as much thanks to Declan Rice being given more license to roam.

He also played a crucial role in West Ham's run to the Europa League semi-finals, including by scoring against Sevilla, so his departure would come as a shock to many.
