Paddy Pimblett’s UFC London opponent Jordan Leavitt is offended by being selected as an ‘easy fight’ for the July event.

On July 23 at the O2 Arena, Jordan Leavitt will attempt to derail the hype train that is Paddy Pimblett. The Scouse sensation has quickly established himself as one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC, largely due to his personality alongside his exciting fight style.

The 27-year-old is 2-0 since joining the promotion and across those two wins, he’s put on quite the show with a knockout over Luigi Vendramini and a submission triumph over Kazula Vargas - both of whom have now been released from the company.

A step up in competition was needed in the wake of the Vargas win, which also took place in the English capital back in March.

That progression will come in the form of a showdown against Jordan Leavitt. ‘The Monkey King’, hailing from Las Vegas, is pretty confident that he can get the job done despite feeling uneasy about the manner in which this fight was booked.

“Honestly I was a bit offended because he’s been kind of picking fights that are easy. I’m like, I must have looked really bad in my last fight to get this fight. So very flattered, kind of offended, but also excited.”

"I could finish him in the first round, he could use the excuse of a bad weight cut. We rematch at the T-Mobile Arena. I get Paddy Pimblett twice, let's get this thing out of the way right now, right this year, don't have to worry about it in the future. Because I want Paddy Pimblett while we're both young, we're both in the prime of our lives, and I want to beat him twice hopefully."

The road to ‘The Baddy’

After a submission success on Dana White's Contender Series left him at 7-0 in his pro career, Leavitt was signed to a deal with the UFC.

Since then he’s gone 3-1 but with a two-fight win streak to his name and nothing to lose as he heads into enemy territory, we’d say this is a fighter who shouldn’t be taken lightly.
