UFC president Dana White had nothing but good things to say about MMA fans in the UK ahead of the promotion’s return to London later this year.

Back in March, the Ultimate Fighting Championship went back to the O2 Arena in London after three years away due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, to put it lightly, was a resounding success as fans from far and wide watched in awe at what was happening in the English capital.

The majority of the big British names on the card came out on top including Paul Craig, Paddy Pimblett, Molly McCann, Arnold Allen and, of course, Tom Aspinall.

The card went down so well that in the immediate aftermath, Dana White told the media that he’d be taking the UFC back to London later in 2022.

He’s kept that promise with another show being booked for July 23 and in a recent interview with BT Sport, White wasn’t shy when voicing his admiration for the fans across the United Kingdom.

“I was so happy that I went to that show [in March], man. It was such a cool experience, I felt bad for people who didn’t go to that show! It was awesome. The fans in the UK are so fun, the energy, the buzz, the excitement that night was off the charts, man. It was incredible. I’m looking forward to the next one.”

“We’re coming right back, I’d do it every weekend! It was awesome.”

The sequel awaits

A whole host of fights have already been announced in anticipation of UFC London 2.0, including a dynamite main event between heavyweight contenders Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes.

Darren Till will also return to action against Jack Hermansson in a bout that could be a real crossroads moment in his career following on from his defeat to Derek Brunson in September 2021.

Some other familiar names will be taking their rightful place on the card with Paul Craig, Alexander Gustafsson, Muhammad Mokaev, Molly McCann, Paddy Pimblett and more being set to appear.

It has a lot to live up to, but the potential for fireworks is certainly there.
