Paul Pogba has left Manchester United.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed the Frenchman will leave Old Trafford after his contract expired at the end of the 2021/22 season.

In an official statement, the club wrote: "Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career, and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United.

"We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey."

Pogba posted a montage of his best moments in a United shirt with the caption: "I feel privileged to have played for this club.

"Many beautiful moments and memories but most importantly an unconditional support from the fans. Thank you".

It just wasn't to be for Pogba in his second spell at the club following his £89 million move from Juventus.

We saw glimpses of his brilliance on the pitch, while he certainly didn't shy away from the cameras off the pitch.

That was the case in the summer of 2017 - 12 months after he had rejoined Man United.

Pogba was mysteriously seen on holiday in Los Angeles alongside Everton striker Romelu Lukaku. It soon emerged the pair were renting a luxury villa in Beverley Hills together as they prepared for the new season.

And it seems the purpose of the trip was for Pogba to convince Romelu Lukaku to join Man United - something that happened while they were away in LA.

It was also reported by LA press â€“ later confirmed by police – that Lukaku was ‘arrested’ after several noise complaints by neighbours. Celebrating his move to United, perhaps?

After the move was confirmed, the world's media wanted to get an exclusive interview with Pogba and Lukaku.

ESPN were granted access to their villa with Alexis Nunes sitting down with Pogba and the new United signing.

But she probably didn't expect to be swimming in their pool.

However, after bizarrely challenging the two players to a game of 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' and losing, Pogba decided to push the reporter into the pool - much to her shock.

Nunes later tweeted: "It was a hot day. @paulpogba did me a favour."

A little incident that sums up Pogba's personality. Yes, he was a world-class footballer but he's also a human being who just wanted to enjoy life and have fun. You can't blame him for that.

Lukaku later revealed that Pogba did indeed play a huge role in his decision to sign for Man Utd.

“I’ve been talking to [Pogba] for about seven or eight years. And now he’s living in Manchester,” he said.

“I live in Manchester. He lives like down the road from where I live, so we’re together on a daily basis.

“He was explaining to me how it went at the club, and it triggered something in my head. When the opportunity came, I didn’t have to think twice. I’m really excited.”
