Before the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua burst onto the scene, Britain’s best boxer was Manchester’s own Ricky Hatton.

The Hitman had an illustrious career which was unfortunately overlooked after high profile Las Vegas defeats to Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Despite those losses being many people’s first thoughts of the former champion, he was undoubtedly one of the best of his generation. V Top 10 on YouTube have put together a video of his top 10 knockouts.

Let’s take a look at the 10 brutal knockouts from one of the greatest British boxers of all time.

10. Leoncio Garces – 29 Jan 2000

Hatton forced a stoppage just three rounds in after blitzing his opponent. The referee had to step in, handing the TKO to the Hitman.

9. Paulie Malignaggi 22 Nov 2008

This one was much more of a battle for Hatton, who took victory via TKO in the 11th round when Malignaggi’s corner threw the towel in.

8. Jason Rowland 7 Jul 2001

Another one of Hatton’s dominant displays makes the list. He knocked out Rowland after four rounds, with the Hitman having his opponent down more than once in what was the final round of the bout.

7. Ray Oliveira 11 Dec 2004

Oliveira managed to survive 10 of the 12 scheduled rounds with Hatton, but he never looked like winning. The powerful Mancunian finally got the KO to put his opponent out of his misery.

6. Michael Stewart 1 Oct 2004

Stewart came into this fight having never been stopped. However, that all changed in round five when Hatton got the TKO to become the first fighter to stop Stewart. A sign of the Hitman’s power and dominance.

5. Gilbert Quiros 10 Jun 2000

It didn’t take Hatton long to get the better of Quiros, knocking him out in the second round of the fight. He couldn’t handle with the barrage thrown at him by Hatton.

4. John Bailey 15 Sep 2001

As we approach the end of the list, it’s no surprise to see this in there. Bailey was downed four times by Hatton before the TKO came in the 5th round. One of his most dominant displays from start to finish.
