Real Madrid capped off an already brilliant 2021/22 season by overcoming Liverpool to lift another Champions League crown. After dominating La Liga for the most part, Real put together an extraordinary run in the Champions League to reach the final, showing their knockout stage knowhow with a string of resilient, comeback victories.Seeing off Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester City and then Liverpool in the final, it could be one of the greatest Champions League campaigns ever. It's insane to think people had written them off throughout the competition, too.You simply cannot ignore all that illustrious history and endless levels of experience within the squad, however, which has given Real an unbreakable level of football heritage, if you will. Despite being overlooked by so many throughout the season, the La Liga and Champions League double has reminded fans of just how good Los Blancos' squad is right now, and it's getting even better.

Real Madrid sign Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger's move from Chelsea to Real Madrid has finally been confirmed, with the German defender signing for the Champions League winners as a free agent.

What a piece of business that is.

Chelsea were desperate to keep hold of their experienced defender who brings an endless amount of excellence in keeping attackers out effectively, while also adding a chaotic attacking thrust when needed. He's the perfect fit for Real.

Rudiger arrives having already won the Champions League, as well as an FA Cup and a Europa League, which is incredible, considering he cost them nothing in transfer fees.

Sure, they didn't manage to get their shiny new attacker in Kylian Mbappe, but as you're about to see, we don't think that will make much difference just yet, due to the depth Carlo Ancelotti already has at his hands.

Following Rudiger's signing, football stats outlet Transfermarkt have put together an XI and alternative options available to Ancelotti at Real Madrid, to highlight their outrageous depth.

This is a squad that has lost the likes of Gareth Bale and Isco and missed out on adding Mbappe. So to see the quality in depth that is still available is pretty insane, and a little bit nauseating knowing that Real will likely strengthen it some more before the summer transfer window slams shut.

You can take a look at Real Madrid's squad depth below, with two fine options for each position:

Star power. Everywhere you look.

Adding Rudiger to their ranks has suddenly seen Real put together one of the strongest defensive rosters in Europe, sitting in front of the ever reliable Thibaut Courtois.

What's even more insane is knowing that a potential pairing of Rudiger and David Alaba has cost nothing in transfer fees. And should either of those two need to come out of the side, Nacho Fernandez and Eder Militao are waiting to slot in.

Things get real tasty moving up the pitch. The timeless trio of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos would prove irreplaceable for most clubs in football, but Real already have their future coming together nicely with Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde and a solid rotation option in Dani Ceballos. They also continue to be linked to Aurelien Tchouameni, which really would set them up for the future in the strongest way possible.

It's clear to see why Real wanted Mbappe so much. Striking up a partnership with Karim Benzema before taking the reigns for the future would've been perfect, but it wasn't meant to be for now.

Having Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio as backup options to two of the greatest young wingers in football right now is unbelievable.

If Real can finally get a tune out of the Belgian next season, while adding a few more signings to bolster the very few weak links, then defences around Europe will be quaking in their boots.
