Arsenal technical director Edu "will be trying to use his Brazilian connections" to lure Everton's Richarlison to the Emirates, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

What is the latest news involving Richarlison?

Despite helping to keep Everton in the Premier League last season, all signals seem to point towards the Brazil international making an exit from Goodison Park this summer.

Reports in recent months have suggested that Mikel Arteta's side could be among his suitors, and now, O'Rourke has claimed that the Gunners could have an advantage in that race.

What did O'Rourke have to say about Arsenal's interest in Richarlison?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O'Rourke said that Edu's Brazilian connections could be something he uses to his advantage in what is likely to be a crowded race for Richarlison's signature.

He said: "I think having these Brazilian connections can only help in their pursuit of transfer targets. Edu, I'm sure will be trying to use his connections to maybe try and convince Richarlison to make that move to Arsenal ahead of other clubs because there will be quite a bit of interest in him this summer.

"Any advantage that you can use to try and win the race for a transfer signature, I think Edu will use his connections."

Richarlison would fit Arteta's style at Arsenal

The £45m-rated star appears to be a perfect fit for Arteta's style at the Emirates, with the Spanish boss never shying away from admitting his side need to show personality and character.

Speaking earlier this year after an impressive 1-0 victory away at Aston Villa in the Premier League, he outlined the three characteristics his young team were displaying: "They are showing character, courage and quality. You can see the connection they have. It is phenomenal to watch.

"If you want to be a top team, you have to win home and away. We are doing that consistently and we have to continue. We really want (the top four) and we are going to give it a go."

If character and personality is what Arteta is looking for, then certainly Richarlison has that in abundance.

The Brazilian played a pivotal role in Everton's last-gasp escape from relegation in the Premier League, finishing the campaign with ten goals and five assists in the competition.

Those goal-scoring contributions came at important times too, including netting a dramatic equaliser against Leicester, the winner against Chelsea, and the goal to make it 2-2 in an eventual win against Crystal Palace in the penultimate game of the season.

Dubbed as a "complete" player by former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, Richarlison is clearly someone who thrives under the pressure, and given the increased spotlight that comes with playing for a side like Arsenal, the versatile forward should fit in seamlessly at the Emirates.
