Cesaro left WWE in February 2022, and less than four months later, he could be set to make a sensational return.

On February 24 of this year, it was reported that Cesaro had become a free agent after leaving WWE at the expiration of his contract.

The two sides were unable to come to terms on a new deal, meaning that the United States Champion was free to work for other companies.

However, it's now been 99 days since those reports emerged, and Cesaro has wrestled for another promotion since.

While Dave Meltzer does say there's nothing definitive to report, he reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is a "belief" that Cesaro will land back in WWE.

The belief is he's comfortable with WWE, and would be earning good money, so he's likely to return. There is the feeling a guy like Cesaro will return because he’s comfortable with WWE.

Cesaro knows that he'll never be on top, as Meltzer notes, but this doesn't seem to be a big issue for him.

The situation seems to be similar to that of Johnny Gargano, who left WWE in December 2021, but rumours also suggest he could make a return when he's ready to come back from wrestling.

Gargano, like Cesaro, also took some time away from wrestling to focus on his family after having a child, and you can read more about that by clicking here.

It's important to note that Meltzer isn't reporting that Cesaro has re-signed with WWE and is 100% returning. As is the case with anything in wrestling, the situation could very much change.

Speaking of Cesaro, the former WWE Superstar recently ranked on the list of the 100 greatest wrestlers ever, which you can check out by clicking here.
